Before relocating to London in 2019, I studied sociology and subsequently completed an MA in social sciences in Chile. I worked as a researcher at the School of Economics and Business at the University of Chile and in the Department of Education at Alberto Hurtado University, where I also taught sociology. I began my doctoral training in psychosocial studies at Birkbeck, University of London, in 2019 and completed it in 2024.
During 2023, I was an Associate Tutor in the Department of Psychosocial Studies at Birkbeck, where I taught social theory. Since receiving my PhD, I have worked as a researcher at Aston Business School, and I am currently a Qualitative Research Associate at the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience at King’s College London.
I have had an eclectic trajectory that has brought me into close contact with different fields and disciplines. Organisation studies, sociology, education, policy evaluation, social medicine, and psychoanalysis are among the areas I have worked in over the past decade. Broadly speaking, I am comfortable conducting qualitative research and am currently putting together a body of work on Lacanian psychoanalysis and social change. Over the past two years, I have published several articles on this topic, a process that paved the way for the publication of my first book, A Rebel Unconscious.
I am a resident of the London Borough of Southwark, where I have the privilege of spending my time with Layla, my partner. We share a colossal passion for fashion, birds, plants, music, almond croissants, miniature ornaments, and Arsenal FC. Hopefully, my writing will catch your eye, yet I am truly convinced that the best way to understand how psychoanalysis works is by listening to Earl Sweatshirt, Pusha T, billy woods, or Mavi. I aspire to write somewhat close to how they rap.
